Çinili Köşk (the Tiled Pavilion) is a 15th‑century Ottoman pavilion on Istanbul’s historic peninsula near Topkapı Palace and Gülhane Park. Erected in the period of Mehmed II (c. 1470s), it stands among the earliest surviving examples of Ottoman palace architecture and is especially noted for its rich İznik‑style glazed tiles and tile‑panel ornamentation. Historically used as a pleasure pavilion and a display space for ceramics, the building today preserves and presents a concentrated collection of Anatolian and Ottoman tiles and pottery that illustrate technical and artistic developments in ceramic production. Its cultural significance stems from the synthesis of Anatolian, Byzantine and Persian influences in its decoration and its role in the development of Ottoman decorative arts. Practical matters such as opening arrangements, admission and accessibility are administered by cultural authorities and may vary; the historic fabric of the pavilion can limit full accessibility.
