Villa Il Pino is located at Via Bolognese 267, in the La Lastra area of Florence, Italy. Originally established in 1354 as a Cistercian convent dedicated to Saint Bartholomew, it was founded based on the testamentary wishes of the wool merchant Maso di Bartolino di Drudolo. The monastery experienced various challenges, including conflicts with the bishop of Fiesole regarding authority, before being suppressed in 1453, after which its assets were incorporated into the diocese.
The villa today reflects an 18th-century architectural style and is adjacent to the Church of Santa Croce al Pino. Visitors can access the property through a gate that opens into a walled garden, which features decorative elements such as stone moldings and unique kneeling windows. An emblem of the Della Gherardesca family can also be seen from the garden side.
The villa has a rich history and has undergone significant restoration, making it an intriguing site for visitors interested in Florence's architectural and cultural heritage.
