Farfadern - Free Audio Guide

Farfadern, also known as 'L'Aiëul', is a significant sculpture by Per Hasselberg located in Humlegården, Stockholm. Created between 1885 and 1886, it depicts an elderly man seated with a boy in his lap, symbolizing the connection between aging and youth. The original plaster model is no longer preserved, but bronze casts were made posthumously under Christian Eriksson’s supervision in 1896.
