De Pax is a significant sculpture created by Belgian sculptor Octave Rotsaert, located in the heart of Brugge. The artwork depicts two monks sharing a kiss of peace and embodies themes of harmony and reconciliation. Initially crafted in plaster for the Salon des Artistes Français in 1924, it was later cast in bronze in 1947. For decades, it resided in the courtyard of the Old Saint John's Hospital, before being relocated to its current position in front of the former hospital. Visitors can admire its cultural relevance, reflecting Brugge's rich history. The site is accessible throughout the year, with no admission fee required, making it an inviting stop for tourists exploring the city.
