The Hospital of St. John, founded in the mid-12th century, is one of the oldest surviving hospital buildings in Europe, located in Bruges. It provided care for sick pilgrims and travelers throughout the Middle Ages. Today, part of the complex houses the Hans Memling Museum, showcasing Early Netherlandish art, medical instruments, and historical hospital records. Visitors can explore the rich history of the site, which also serves as a congress and exhibition center. The hospital ceased operations in 1977, and the city of Bruges now manages the site. Opening hours vary seasonally, and admission fees apply. Accessibility options are available.
