Hühnerdieb is a historic fountain monument in Aachen, created by the Berlin sculptor Hermann Joachim Pagels. Unveiled on Christmas Day in 1913, it features a bronze figure of a chicken thief caught in the act of stealing a rooster, which crows and exposes him. The original sculpture was lost during World War II, but Pagels was able to recreate it in 1950, thanks to a surviving model. The fountain, a cultural landmark within Aachen, is surrounded by beautiful architecture and offers a glimpse into the city's artistic heritage. Visitors can enjoy the charming atmosphere of the square where the fountain is located, making it a delightful stop in Aachen’s historical center.
