Al Shandagah Watch Tower, طريق الغبيبة, بر دبي, الشندغة, دبي, الإمارات العربية المتحدة
The Al Shindagha Watchtower in Dubai, dating to 1939 and restored in 1994, stands in one of the city's oldest residential neighbourhoods associated with Sheikh Saeed Al Maktoum. Historically one of three towers used to guard the city, it is among the district's oldest functional buildings and a recognised cultural landmark. Constructed in local stone consistent with surrounding architecture, the tower conveys traditional craftsmanship and includes interpretive signage, including a plaque describing its role in the city's defence. Its cultural significance lies in reflecting Dubai’s pre‑modern urban fabric and the community life of the area. Key attractions are the tower’s historic stonework, the contextual streetscape and photographic viewpoints. Visiting arrangements, including opening hours and admission, are set by site management and may change; accessibility is limited by the building’s historic fabric and physical layout.
