Ancienne Gare Viger, Rue Saint-Louis, Quartier Chinois, Ville-Marie, Montréal, Agglomération de Montréal, Montréal (région administrative), Québec, H2Y 1A9, Canada
The former Gare Viger in Montreal was a significant railway station and hotel built in 1897 by the Canadian Pacific Railway. Designed by architect Bruce Price, it featured a unique train station/hotel concept. In 1912, railway operations moved to a new building adjacent to the original structure. The Viger station closed in 1951, but the buildings remain, with the former station building converted into the Jacques Viger building and the adjacent structure used by the city. The site holds historical importance as a part of Montreal's architectural heritage and railway history.
