The Meta Sudans is an ancient fountain located near the Colosseum in Rome, constructed during the Flavian dynasty around 80 AD. Known for its conical shape, it was a gathering place for gladiators who washed after battles. The structure was embellished with a bronze ball, from which water poured, creating a 'sweating' effect. Although only remnants remain, the site holds significant historical value, connecting visitors to Rome's imperial past. While the fountain is currently in ruins, it is accessible to tourists as part of the archaeological park. Opening hours vary, and admissions may be included in combined entry tickets for the Colosseum and surrounding areas. Accessibility is manageable, with pathways leading to the site.
