The Stiftskirche St. Simon und Judas in Goslar, built between 1040 and 1050, was a prominent Romanesque church and a significant part of the Imperial Palace complex. Although it was demolished in the early 19th century, the northern entrance hall remains. Visitors can explore its rich history, including the unique architectural features like octagonal capitals and the stunning façade of the entrance hall, adorned with intricate sculptures. The site is of cultural significance as it symbolizes the power of the Holy Roman Empire. While the church is no longer standing, the area is currently being transformed into a public garden, integrating archaeological findings.
