The Museu de la Xocolata, located in the historic Convent de Sant Agustí in Barcelona, is a private initiative by the Gremi de Pastisseria de Barcelona to celebrate chocolate as an art form. Established in 1998, the museum promotes the history of the traditional Mona de Pasqua, showcasing the artistic craftsmanship involved in chocolate-making. With a surface area of 600 m², it attracts around 150,000 visitors annually, including 28,000 school children. The museum features exhibitions on the evolution of chocolate from a drink to a solid product and its importance in Catalonia's economic and social fabric.
