The Temple of Athena Nike, located on the Acropolis of Athens, commemorates Greece's victory over the Persians in the Battle of Salamis in 480 BC. Constructed between 421 and 416 BC, it is an excellent example of Ionic architecture designed by the architect Callicrates. The temple stands just 8 meters long and 5.5 meters wide, housing a statue of Athena as Nike, symbolizing victory. Visitors can admire its intricate frieze and reliefs, depicting mythological scenes. The temple is currently undergoing restoration, and while visiting hours may vary, it is generally open to the public. Admission fees apply, and the site is accessible to most visitors.
