Palazzo Ricci-Altoviti is a historic building located in the heart of Florence, Italy, at via de' Vecchietti 6, at the corner of via del Campidoglio. This architectural gem incorporates the ancient Torre degli Agli, which is still visible on the left side of the building. Constructed under the commission of the Ricci family in 1538, the palazzo stands on the site of previous houses belonging to the Agli family. It has been recognized as a national artistic heritage site since at least 1901. The palazzo underwent significant expansions by the Altoviti family after they regained their position in the city following exile. The building features a façade that blends Renaissance elements with later restorations, maintaining its historical character despite some modifications during Florence's urban renewal projects in the late 19th century. Notably, the façade is adorned with coats of arms representing both the Ricci and Altoviti families. In 2011, Palazzo Ricci-Altoviti gained modern fame by hosting participants from the American reality show "Jersey Shore" during their visit to Florence. Visitors to this site can appreciate its architectural beauty, historical significance, and the cultural narratives intertwined within its walls, making it an interesting stop for those exploring the rich heritage of Florence.
