Gentpoort, Gentpoortstraat, Brugge-Centrum, Brugge, West-Vlaanderen, Vlaanderen, 8000, België / Belgique / Belgien

Gentpoort is one of the four remaining city gates in Brugge, originally part of the city's second defensive wall built in 1297. Constructed around 1400 by Jan van Oudenaerde, the gate showcases medieval architecture. It housed a museum from 2011 to 2019, illustrating the function of a medieval city gate, and offered visitors stunning views of Brugge from its terrace. The museum closed in early 2020, and in 2021, the Royal Guides Association took residence. Visitors can enjoy the scenic Gentpoort Bridge over the Ringvaart nearby. The site is easily accessible and a key attraction for history buffs and tourists alike.
