Uzun Çarşı (Uzun Çarşı Sokak) in the heart of Antalya is a historic bazaar and pedestrian street that reflects the city’s layered past and vibrant local culture. Beginning near the Tekeli Mehmet Paşa Mosque and extending southward, the narrow, winding lanes are lined with traditional shops and workshops offering handicrafts, textiles, carpets, jewelry, leather goods, spices, and unique artisanal items. The district’s historical architecture and preserved old houses convey the character of old Antalya, while a variety of eateries and small boutiques illustrate contemporary local life. As a cultural focal point, the bazaar showcases regional craftsmanship, patterns and techniques passed through generations, and offers a concentrated display of Anatolian material heritage. The streets reflect both historical significance and continuing living traditions.
