The Arrephorion, a significant historical site located on the Acropolis of Athens, dates back to around 470 BC. This square building was home to the Arrephoroi, two young girls chosen annually to weave the sacred Peplos for the goddess Athena, showcasing its cultural importance in ancient rituals. Although only the foundations remain visible today, the site offers insight into Athenian traditions and architecture. Visitors can explore the area surrounding the Acropolis, but the Arrephorion is not directly accessible as much of it has been buried for protection. The site is open year-round, with no admission fee, and is easily accessible by public transport.
