Porta Camollia is a historic northern gateway in the medieval walls of Siena, known for its striking architecture and cultural significance. Built in the 13th century, it features three arches, adorned with a circular marble bas-relief of the Christogram and the Medici heraldic shield, added in 1604 to commemorate Ferdinand I de' Medici's entry into the city. The gate's name is derived from a legend of its founding linked to Romulus, the founder of Rome. It was a critical defensive point during the 1555 siege of Siena.
