Ca' Pesaro is a grand Baroque palace on Venice’s Grand Canal, originally commissioned by the Pesaro family in the 17th century and commonly attributed to architect Baldassare Longhena. It now houses the Galleria Internazionale d'Arte Moderna and the Museo d'Arte Orientale, presenting important collections of modern and non‑European art alongside the palace’s ornate façade, staircases and historic reception rooms. The site illustrates the interplay of aristocratic patronage, Venetian urban identity and evolving artistic tastes from the Baroque through modern periods. Its exhibitions and permanent holdings foreground painting, sculpture and applied arts of the 19th and 20th centuries and material culture from Asia. The building is open to the public with scheduled visiting hours, regulated admission fees and general accessibility measures, although some areas remain constrained by its protected historic fabric.
