The Henkerturm is a historic tower located in the western part of the medieval city wall of Nürnberg. Built between 1320 and 1325, it served as a protective structure over the Pegnitz river's outlet. By 1400, it lost its military function and became the residence of the city's executioner, a role highlighted in the Henkerhaus museum, which opened in 2007. The museum presents the criminal history of Nürnberg through the diary of executioner Franz Schmidt. Visitors can admire the architecture and enjoy views from the surrounding area, including the adjacent Wasserturm and the picturesque Henkersteg bridge. The site is accessible, though specific visiting hours and admission fees may vary.
