Orlandov stup, also known as Orlando's Column, is a historic monument located in the heart of Dubrovnik. Erected in 1418 by the Italian sculptor Bonino da Milano, this statue of a medieval knight symbolizes the city's independence and bravery against invaders. Standing at 5.17 meters tall, it features a raised sword and once displayed the Dubrovnik flag. Visitors can admire the craftsmanship while learning about the monument's role in public announcements and punishment during the Republic era. The column is situated on Stradun, the main street of Dubrovnik, making it easily accessible. No admission fee is required, and it remains a vital part of the city's cultural identity.
