The Marché central (Central Market) in Ouarzazate (ورزازات), Drâa‑Tafilalet, is a traditional municipal souk located near the Rabab Bazaar and the Ouarzazate Media Library. As a long‑standing focal point of the city’s social and economic life, the market reflects the continuity of Berber and local trading traditions. Stalls and workshops display a wide range of goods—brightly colored spices such as cumin, saffron and cinnamon; handwoven Berber rugs and textiles; leatherwork; silver and silver‑style jewelry; and other artisanal crafts produced from local materials. The site’s cultural significance lies in its role as a crossroads where rural artisans and urban traders meet, preserving techniques, motifs and communal exchanges passed down through generations. Key attractions include spice displays, textile and jewelry craftsmanship, and the collective atmosphere of exchange that characterizes the souk.
