Porta Garibaldi, originally known as Porta Comasina, is one of the six main gates of Milan, located in the northern part of the city along the ancient road to Como. Built during the 16th century and redesigned in a neoclassical style by architect Giacomo Moraglia between 1826 and 1827, it features a grand archway and customs houses. The site is significant for its historical role during the Italian unification, particularly when Giuseppe Garibaldi entered the city in 1859. Today, visitors can explore the surrounding Piazza XXV Aprile and enjoy nearby attractions. Porta Garibaldi is accessible by public transport, and the area is pedestrian-friendly. There is no admission fee to visit the gate itself.
