Tiber Island, or 'Isola Tiberina' in Italian, is the only river island in the Tiber River running through Rome. This boat-shaped island is steeped in history, once housing a temple dedicated to Aesculapius, the god of medicine. Today, it features the Fatebenefratelli Hospital and the historic Church of San Bartolomeo. Visitors can enjoy events like the summer film festival, Isola del Cinema. While there is no admission fee, hours may vary depending on specific attractions. The island is easily accessible via the Ponte Fabricio and Ponte Cestio bridges.
