Sophocleus Street, located in the historic center of Athens, is known for being the heart of the Athens Stock Exchange. Named after the ancient Greek playwright Sophocles, this 600-meter long street begins at Piraeus Street and ends near the intersection of Pesmatzoglou and Aristeidou Streets. The Athens Stock Exchange, officially established in 1876, was initially located in various venues before settling on Sophocleus Street in 1928. Visitors can explore nearby attractions, including the Central Administration Building of the National Bank and various shops and restaurants. The area is easily accessible by public transport.
