Sint-Walburgiskerk, also known as Burchtkerk, is a historic former church located in Antwerp, Belgium. Dating back to the 8th century, it was originally built as a chapel and later transformed into a parish church. The church is renowned for its connection to the artist Peter Paul Rubens, who created the altarpiece "The Elevation of the Cross." Although the church was demolished in 1817, its artistic legacy remains, with some elements preserved in the Cathedral of Antwerp. Visitors can explore the area, which features a statue of Rubens and the site of the church. The site is accessible year-round, and while there is no admission fee, donations are appreciated.
