Yeni Camii (New Mosque) in Istanbul's Eminönü district is a prominent Ottoman imperial mosque whose construction began in the late 16th century and was completed in the mid‑17th century under the patronage of Turhan Hatice Sultan. Architecturally notable for its cascading domes, twin minarets, rich İznik tilework, calligraphy and an ornate courtyard, it forms a historic complex (külliye) that historically included a market and tombs. Culturally it anchors the waterfront skyline near the Spice Bazaar and Galata Bridge and remains a focal point of communal and religious life. Visitors can appreciate its interior decoration and külliye layout; visiting hours follow mosque prayer schedules and vary seasonally, admission is generally free though donations are customary, and accessibility is partial due to historic steps and uneven surfaces.
