Palazzo Tolomei is a historic building located in Siena, recognized as the oldest surviving private residence in the city, dating back to before 1205. Originally constructed by the Tolomei family, prominent bankers of the time, the palace exhibits typical 13th-century architectural features, including a striking grey stone façade adorned with elegant bifore windows. Significant restorations were completed, especially after an almost complete destruction due to conflicts, with the latest restoration in 1971. The Palazzo, which now hosts the Cassa di Risparmio di Firenze, is not only a testament to familial wealth but also a cultural landmark that reflects the rich history of Siena.
