The Ocean Race Museum in Alicante, Spain, is a public sports museum dedicated to the prestigious sailing regatta, The Ocean Race. Opened on June 19, 2012, the museum occupies 1,300 square meters in the historic Old Maritime Station at the Port of Alicante. It showcases the history of the regatta, which began in 1973 as the Whitbread Round the World Race. Visitors can explore interactive exhibits, including a competition yacht, simulators, and temporary exhibitions focusing on Spain's involvement in the race. The museum promotes the values of sailing and marine sustainability. Currently, it is temporarily closed due to low visitor numbers. Please check the official website for updates on reopening, visiting hours, and any admission fees.
