The Sisi-Kapelle, located on Pfaffenberg in the Döbling district of Vienna, is a neo-Gothic chapel built in honor of the marriage of Emperor Franz Joseph I and Empress Elisabeth on April 24, 1854. Designed by architect Johann Garben, it serves as a memorial and was intended as a burial site for its patron, Johann Carl Freiherr von Sothen. The chapel was heavily damaged during World War II but underwent extensive renovations between 2002 and 2005, costing approximately 1.1 million euros. Visitors can experience a unique blend of nature and culture, enhanced by a glass roof and fourteen embedded screens depicting the natural environment's struggles. The site is accessible to tourists and offers a serene atmosphere amidst the Wienerwald.
