Jardin Royal in Toulouse is a historic public park created in 1754 by Louis de Mondran and recognized as the city’s first public garden. Reworked into an English‑style garden between 1861 and 1863, it covers about 1.7 hectares and experienced name changes during the Revolution and the nineteenth century, taking the definitive name "Jardin Royal" in 1886. The site combines landscaped lawns, mature specimen trees — ginkgo biloba, micocoulier (Celtis), cedars of Lebanon, a tulip tree, Osage orange and magnolias — and several commemorative statues honoring figures such as composer Déodat de Séverac, aviator‑writer Antoine de Saint‑Exupéry and pioneers of Aéropostale. Linked by a footbridge to the Jardin du Grand‑Rond, the garden bears cultural significance as a green urban refuge reflecting Toulouse’s artistic and aeronautical heritage.
