The British Factory House, known as 'Feitoria Inglesa', is an 18th-century Neo-Palladian building located in Porto, Portugal. Established in 1727, it served as a meeting point for British merchants involved in the port wine trade. This historic site reflects the British influence on the local wine industry and is one of the last remaining 'factories' from the era of British, Portuguese, and Dutch empires. Visitors can explore its elegant architecture and learn about its role in the consolidation of the British monopoly over Port wine. The house hosts various annual events, including a Christmas Ball and weekly luncheons where vintage ports are served. Admission is typically for members and invited guests only; therefore, it is advisable to check for public access days. The venue is accessible and offers a unique glimpse into Porto's rich cultural heritage.
