Spårvägsmuseet, located in Stockholm's Hjorthagen district, is the city's tramway museum, showcasing the development of public transportation since the 1650s. Established in 1944, the museum features over 60 vehicles, including trams, buses, and historic maritime exhibits. Highlights include the oldest preserved local transport vehicle, a horse-drawn omnibus from the 1840s, and horse tram no. 12 from 1877. The museum reopened in May 2022 in a historic gasworks building, offering 3,700 square meters of exhibition space. Visitors can enjoy interactive displays, a miniature subway, and a café. Admission fees are reasonable, and the museum is accessible to all.
