"I See What You Mean" is a large public sculpture by artist Lawrence Argent, installed in 2005 outside the Colorado Convention Center in downtown Denver. Fabricated with a steel armature and painted fiberglass exterior, the striking cobalt-blue bear peers into the convention hall, creating a playful visual dialogue between interior and urban life. The work has become an iconic symbol of Denver's contemporary public art programme and civic identity, frequently reproduced in local media and promotional materials. As an outdoor, permanent artwork it is visible year‑round from the plaza and adjacent streets and can be viewed without charge; the surrounding plaza and sidewalks provide level, accessible routes. Its scale, colour and site-specific engagement continue to stimulate discussion about public art, architecture and community place-making.
