The Zuiderkerk, built between 1608 and 1614, is Amsterdam's first Protestant church and a significant historical landmark. Designed by architect Hendrick de Keyser, the church features a stunning Renaissance style and is dedicated to St. John. Visitors can appreciate its rich history, including the burial site of de Keyser himself and the baptism of Rembrandt's son, Titus. The church has undergone various transformations, serving as an information center until 2010 and now hosting cultural events. It reopened for services in 2014, marking its continuing significance in Amsterdam's community. The church is located at Zandstraat 17, and while visiting hours vary, there is typically no admission fee, making it accessible to all.
