Blå porten, also known as Djurgårdsporten or Lusthusporten, is the only preserved gateway to Djurgården in Stockholm. Originally a wooden gate from the 1600s, it was replaced with a cast-iron structure in 1849, designed by architect Johan Adolf Hawerman. The portal is adorned with the crowned cipher of King Oscar I and flanked by two deer sculptures. Blå porten has significant historical value, having served as an entrance to royal hunting grounds. It was designated a national heritage site in 1965. Today, the gate is painted a bright blue with gilded details, most recently renovated in 2009. Visitors can explore the surrounding parkland and nearby attractions like the Liljevalchs Art Hall. The site is easily accessible via public transport and is free to visit.
