Stora synagogan in Stockholm is the largest synagogue in the city, located on Wahrendorffsgatan near Berzelii Park. Built between 1867 and 1870 by architect Fredrik Wilhelm Scholander, it features a unique Nymorisk style influenced by ancient Assyrian temples. The synagogue has a capacity of 1,000 and is known for its beautiful interior and rich floral ornamentation. It serves a conservative Jewish congregation, with progressive services held monthly. The synagogue is protected as a cultural heritage site. Visitors can admire the adjacent statue "Flykten med Toran" by Willy Gordon. It is open for visitors, but check for specific visiting hours and any admission fees. Accessibility options are available.
